Affirmative Inaction.

One of Abraham Lincoln's claims to celebrity is the indisputable fact that he is well known for annulling slavery. Over half ten years later, and after a chain of civil rights "victories", the roots of Affirmative Action were laid into law. This was at a point in time when black civil rights leaders where being murdered, churches were being bombed, and dogs were not the black the best friend of man.

Some blacks had managed to flourish in another, but equal America. However, few businesses employed blacks in a management position, as they knew their white staff would not stick to their direction. It was actually the same time that smokers were not treated as social pariah ; pro athletics made less than the average employee and the only real way to send mail was in an envelope. Technology has made a big impact in our social fabric. Blacks are not the scorn of White America. What are their secrets? Banding together as a community. A tribute to our past, present and future. In respecting Black America we celebrate the rebirth of the state's most maligned ethnic group. We celebrate the present by expounding on our achievements and reliving great moments from past times. We celebrate our ancestors who worked in the mid-day sun, under the sweltering heat of oppression. We celebrate the result of Marcus Garvey, Frederick Douglass and W We celebrate the NAACP, State Urban League and Southern Christian Leadership Meeting in their crusade to get rid of the intolerable stink of bigotry gone awry. So powerful were these men in their search for freedom, they preferred death to enslavement. We celebrate the Civil, Political and equality so long denied and withheld. We celebrate the political activism of Jesse Jackson, Fannie Lou Hamer and the charming Adam Clayton Powell, eloquent strategists demanding the granting of voting rights to each adult, old and young. From the rebel retreat of Fort Wagner during the Civil War to Operation Iraqi Liberty . Supplying required products or services to main line America. Black folks will look into themselves to find differences ( Haitian against Jamaican, Yank against African, etc ). So regardless of how many blacks could be working in the guts of the company, the way blacks have applied Affirmative Action even among themselves does nothing apart from try and maintain a 2% average, even if there are way more highly qualified blacks prepared to get promoted.
